They are a small, peaceful species but very sensitive so they're more suited for established tanks and experienced aquarists. In the aquarium, the Electric Blue Ram needs soft, acidic water and lots of bog wood, rocks, plants and caves to thrive. All of these will provide your ram with hiding places and little territories that's essential to their natural behaviour and sense of security. Peat filtration, almond leaves and floating plants can help create the desirable environment. Filtration should be efficient to keep water quality stable, but flow needs to be gentle.
