German Blue Ram Medium. The German Blue Ram, also known as Mikrogeophagus ramirezi, is a small, brightly coloured freshwater fish that grows to a maximum length of about 2 inches (5 cm). This fish is easily recognized by its bright blue body and vibrant red markings on its dorsal and caudal fins. The male German Blue Ram also has an elongated dorsal fin, which is absent in the female. Keeping German Blue Ram Healthy: The German Blue Ram is a relatively high-maintenance fish that requires a carefully managed aquarium environment. This fish is sensitive to fluctuations in water quality and temperature, and requires a consistent pH level between 5.0 and 7.0, and a temperature range of 78-84°F (25-29°C).
