Hypancistrus Sp. L236 High White Tank Bred. Hypancistrus Sp L236 High White , Hypancistrus Species , is a stunning species of pleco. They are found in the wild in the Rio Xingu , Brazil, although the specimens found in the hobby will be captive bred. It is quite a small species, achieving 12cm when fully grown. The body colour can range from white to pale gold, with dark, reticulated stripes covering the body. If kept in a lower pH of about 6.5 the body becomes a much brighter white. The higher the pH, the more gold coloured they are. Its striking pattern and gentle nature means this fish makes a great community tank addition. Hypancistrus Sp L236 High White can be mildly territorial with others of their own kind, so ensure plenty of caves and hiding places to reduce this.
