Snakeskin Barb
Puntius rhomboocellatus
Description
Snakeskin Barb. Snakeskin Barb (Puntius rhomboocellatus ) Care level: Easy Max Size: 5cm Diet: Omnivore Temp: 23-28°C PH: 5.5 - 7.0 Purchase size: 3-3.5cm+ The Snakeskin Barb is quite a rare delicate species from Indonesia. It is a shy species that requires soft, acidic conditions and a peaceful, shady tank. Excellent water quality is essential as this fish can be very sensitive to poor water conditions and can quickly develop velvet or white spot as a result. The aquarium should be well planted and furnished with bog wood and rocks. Snakeskin Barbs are quite peaceful, but sometimes squabble amongst themselves. This is normal behaviour and doesn't tend to lead to any damage. 10 or more specimens will make up a good shoal and the squabbling should be more spread out then instead of any single fish being targeted regularly. The aquarium should be at least 70L with an open swimming space in the middle. The. Source: Shirley Aquatics Tropical Livestock.
