Description

Gold Kipili (Neolamprologus sexfasciatus) - 2-3" Unsexed F1. Remarks: Neolamprologus sexfasciatus is a species of Tanganyikan cichlid whose coloration and even behavior varies based on what locality/population it belongs to. Most are familiar with the blue variant from the southern end of the lake that has proven to be extremely challenging to breed in captivity. They also have gained a reputation for having a nasty temperament with the males often killing any other of their kind. In contrast, the gold Kipili variant whose golden yellow coloration combined with black, vertical bars gives it a bumblebee look, are far more willing to spawn and have a more mellow temperament. The gold Kipili variant of Neolamprologus sexfasciatus can be found in the rocky shallows of the southeastern side of Lake Tanganyika near Kipili, Tanzania. There, it can be found.
