They are a highly territorial species that is known for its aggression. Because of their size, they need to be in a very large well filtered aquarium. The flow should be moderate. The substrate should be fine sand to facilitate the Terror's natural digging behaviour and additional decoration such as rocks and wood should be fixed down firmly as these fish are more than capable of rearranging their environment. These fish can adapt to a very wide range of parameters as long as they're not in the extremes, but temperatures need to be at the higher end of the scale.
