Like all shoaling species, they should be kept in a group of 6 or more individuals, creating a beautiful display of activity in your aquarium. The aquarium should be at least 4ft long, with the back and sides heavily planted with bog wood to give the fish plenty of hiding spaces to explore. The centre of the tank should be left as free swimming space. Floating plants can help diffuse the lighting to make the rainbows feel more secure. These fish will adapt to a wide range of temperature and pH and don't need any special measures. As a peaceful species, they'll get along with most fish, but large boister.
