Description
Gold Nugget Pleco L081 - Size: Medium. 4-6cm. Gold Nugget Pleco L081, Baryancistrus sp. cf. Xanthellus , is a gorgeous species of pleco. Fine Spot Gold Nugget Pleco is also another commonly used name. It is found throughout the Rio Xingu, a section of the Amazon River that runs through Brazil. A reasonably large species, it can reach 20cm when fully grown. There are several variations of the Gold Nugget Pleco. This particular variant has a black body and much smaller yellow spots than other Nuggets. It also has yellow seams on its dorsal fin and tail. They are quite peaceful as juveniles. However, Gold Nuggets can be territorial as they mature. Providing caves in the form of wood and rock piles can help reduce this as it breaks up territories. Good tank mates include species of Tetra, Rasbora, Gourami and dwarf cichlids. Temper. Source: Abyss Aquatics Tropical Fish.
