These little fish were once upon a time used as a means to cycle aquariums and as lab fish and are still widely regarded as practically bomb proof. They are a shoaling species that should be kept in groups of 6 or more specimens and can be kept with most other species, though long finned fish should be avoided as the Danios are known for nipping.
