Description

Irian Red Rainbowfish - 2-3" Pair (1 Male, 1 Female). Remarks: Glossolepis incisus are known as the Irian red rainbow or the salmon red rainbow. Females are a gold-bronze color, while males are mostly red with the occasional bronze sheen over scales. They are often collected near the shoreline in Lake Sentani, the only lake they are known to inhabit. They appreciate plenty of submerged vegetation. These fish are omnivorous and should be fed a quality flake food with supplemental proteins such as baby brine shrimp. They require clean water but tolerate a wide variety of water parameters. By providing frequent water changes, you will be rewarded with nearly continuous spawning attempts. Glossolepis species deposit eggs in weedy areas (often mimicked by a yarn mop) and the eggs hatch 7-10 days later. Eggs can be harvested for hatching in separat.
